Write Across Canada - An Environmental Writing Challenge
An invitation to engage students to express their knowledge, emotions, and opinions by writing on environmental themes, fostering their awareness of and encouraging personal connections to the natural environment. We provide incentives for students for sharing their ideas through writing about nature and environmental topics.
The SEEDS Foundation and Nexen want teachers to enter MONTHLY (October through May) this year and optionally submit poetry, short-essays, sentences on environmental themes, or other writing!. Pick themes from your grade-level curricula … animals, plants, waste, pollution, the seasons, insects, wilderness, lakes, birds, etc.
You can claim free sticker incentives monthly for every participating student, a class certificate of participation (optional) and a chance to win $50.00 in a random, bi-monthly draw throughout this school year.
